This is honestly my favorite Cdrama I've ever watched because of how healing it was. At the beginning, you follow a young girl Sang Zhi. In her last year of middle school, she meets our main male lead for the first time. Jiaxu is her brother’s best friend from college and he was like her older brother. Fast forward, she is a junior in high school and she meets him again. She develops a crush, but he doesn’t see her because she is too young. All he sees is that little girl he helped by pretending to be her brother after getting in trouble at school. He tutors her in physics and they become closer, but he still sees her as his little sister. After graduation, he has to move back home. She finds out later he potentially has a girlfriend. Things happened and then it fast forwards to her first year of college in his hometown. They meet again at a karaoke. She went with her roommates for a birthday party and that’s the start of them reconnecting. She does a lot for him as time passes leading up to an New Years dinner. Someone from his past ruins their meal. Sang Zhi defends him and as you watch the scene you notice the shift in his brain go from little sister to crush.

From then on, he decides that he wants to pursue her. It was really cute to watch all the things he did for Sang Zhi. Their realtionship was never toxic and I think it was beautiful. Not only did they want the best for each other, but they were there during the ups and downs. I also loved how much she stood up for his happiness before and after dating him. I really loved how she stayed with him hin the hospital even if she didn't have to.

I loved Sang Zhi and her family because they were such kindhearted people who remind me of what Christ is supposed to be. The relationship she has with her brother is so funny and felt as if they really were related. He parents were literally the sweetest people on the planet and only wants the best for their kids. Jiaxu had to go through so much and the care that he received was put in his path for a reason. His family dynamic is complicated and you learn why as you follow along with the episodes. Now, some people think the age gap is weird but I didn’t. He never had feelings for her until she was of legal age and they are only 5 years apart. The webtoon was 7 years apart. The crush was always one sided and he would have never done something like that. Watching the characters grow from their past and healing one another brings me so much joy. I have watched it so many times I lost count. I will continue to watch this drama for the rest of my life.

It corresponds to Galatians 6:2, Hebrews 13:16, and Proverbs 31:8-9

Galatians 6:2

"Carry one another's burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ"

I think this scripture fits very well with the contents of this story. All characters have burdens that they carry and their communication allows then to help one another not only overcome those faults and trama, but allows them to feel safe. The way Sang Zhi and Jiaxu protected each other reflect a couple sharing burdens that they go through and carrying each other through their struggles. Also the family dynamic she grew up in help her to become the person she is. Her parents gave her the heart of love, compassion and empathy. She is the light that needed to be brought to his life so he could flourish just as Jesus is our light.

Hebrews 13:16

"Don't neglect to do what is good and to share, for God is pleases with such sacrifices."

This verse reflects Sang Zhi and her family. They looked out for Jiaxu as he went to college and then on. It also reflect on Jiaxu sending Sang Zhi things every year as gifts for milestones because he wanted to give her a blessing. God wants to give us blessings, He wants us to receive good things and sometimes they lead up to a bigger and better season. We have to remember to be content in the seasons we are in but their is nothing worng with having excitement for things to come, just dont forget to enjoy the now. In dark times, we need to be grateful for all the people who stand by us, that help make our lives a little easier. Her family did that for him, they helped him in a way that shown the love of Christ.

Proverbs 31:8-9

"Speak up for those who have no voice, for the justice of all who are dispossessed. Speak up, judge righteously, and defend the cause of the oppressed and needy."

Sang Zhi has so many qualities of a Proverbs 31 women in my eyes but especially this verse. She is always standing up for what is right, especially for Jiaxu. She's always there to be his support, his rock, his helper. She wants to protect him in ways that he believes he doesn't deserve. He has been stuck in this cycle due to the sins of his father and the loss of his mother. She came in and changed his heart in many ways. She puts him first and then herself. She submits to him and he submits to her. Their relationship just brings me so much joy becasue in some ways it reflects the love of Christ. When she agrees to be his girlfriend and they talk about his past in more detail, he was scared of her reaction, but it couldn't have been more understanding. She decided long ago she would be with him through whatever life throws at them.
