This drama is tied with Hidden Love for me. Y’all, when I tell you this is a good show, I mean it. You are following Shen Xi Fan who is a workaholic. She works as a manager for a popular hotel and she meets He Su Ye receiving treatment for her sleep issues. He is a doctor of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). He finds her to be very beautiful and loves the way she carries herself. After he found out that she had a boyfriend in the beginning, he stayed in his lane. He respected her so much and was a good friend to her. Shen’s boyfriend put her through so much emotional and mental trauma and I was happy when that ended. He Su had a lot of patients toward her situation because even though he wanted a relationship with her, he realized that she needed time to heal.
Of course his family had drama just like Jiaxu in Hidden Love and if I’m being honest, in many ways I see similarities between the two characters. Shen and He Su live in the same neighborhood so it helped them grow closer. Throughout the storyline, you see them heal from past issues they both face. I also really enjoyed the side romance between Shen’s friends, they were just so cute. The relationship between Shen and her parents made me so happy, they had an amazing family dynamic. He Su had a more complicated relationship with his dad growing up and it got worse after his mother died. There were many things that separated them which lead to a rift. This relationship with Shen I believe helped him forgive and give him the push to grow a better relationship with his father.
This show is such a comfort for me for many reasons. One, I love He Su Ye’s character. Not only is he handsome, he is one of the most patient and kind characters I’ve ever seen in a drama. The gentleness, care, kindness and vulnerability that fully allowed trust within the relationship and of course the communication was amazing between this couple. Even when they had a problem, they were able to come together and fix the issue. I also loved how understanding he was with the things she wanted to to not only to further her career, but be able to get out of her comfort zone even when that means being apart for a significant amount of time. Her ex wasn’t really supportive unless it benefited him. The support He Su gave, was unconditional, just as Christ love is unconditional. In many ways I see the love of Christ shine through this couple.
Now, our main girl got on my nerves for a hot second because I feel like she put my boy through a little emotional trauma before they got together, but he was so gentle with her even after that. He understtod that her healing journey was the most important thing. The color grading of each scene just gave me so much joy I loved of they produced it, the script was beautifully written, and the character development was off the charts. The importance of flowers throughout the series was also a nice touch that I really appreciate. Growing up, my granny gave me an appreciation for flowers and seeing that in this story made my heart warm.
It corresponds to 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 and Proverbs 14:29
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
"Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not arrogant, is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not irritable, and does not keep a record of wrongs. Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
I say this with my whole chest, He Su is the embodiment of this verse. I saw someone talk about this on Tiktok and it opened my eye to how much this man lives out this verse. In all honesty, I can't think really of one time where he got angry and lost his temper. He was so well spoken, had great self contorl, and understood the importance of keeping a level head. He walked, talked, and breathed being a foundation and a provider for her. is she able to take care of herself, yes. He knew she could, but not only did he want to provid an abundent life for her, he provided a place where she could speak her mind and have emotional stability. He does things for others and doesn't complain, boast, or arrogant. He endured the trials that came his way and had hope for the future.

Proverbs 14:29
"A patient person shows great understanding, but a quick-tempered one promotes foolishness."
I know I keep talking about patience but that is something that I very much look for. Personally, my patience can improve and God is working with me in so many ways. I struggle with freaking out when I get overwhelmed or anxious, I get angry easily and lash out. Just becasue I am a women with a lot going on is no excuse. Seeing him and his patience, his understanding, helps me see the model Christ wants in his people. I am foolish, I have my faults, but God can still use me. How he stayed with her and waited for her without anger shows me what traits to look for in myself but also the one who I will be spending the rest of my life with. Will I be perfect, no that isn't attainable, but I can strive to be more like Christ everyday and learn to control my temper even when its hard. I just really loved his character more than any other male lead I've ever watched.
