Spoiler free review:

I loved this book so much I gave it 5/5 stars and frankly I would give it 6/5! The way Grace loves her son so much and only wants to be a good mom while trying to work and provide for him was so beautiful to me. The family that she's living with in the beginning were the ones who were going to adopt her baby when it was born but she couldn’t give him up. The love she had for her son made the book even more special to me.

This is not a spoiler since it's in the summary on the back of the book (lol) but Roman is not only a famous artist but he is a tagger known as ‘the Bird’. You learn about his tragic past due to his upbringing and how he overcomes his issues at his own pace. He is essentially a beautiful rich man with a heartbreaking past and something happens later on in the book to him that not only changed his life, but Grace’s as well.

Grace also had a tragic past as well because of her family and to be honest, her story could be triggering for some. I honestly was in pure shock and I had to put the book down to cry and process. If you would like to know these triggers then you can look it up or contact me. She wants to be a good mother to her child and she wants to be able to provide for him. She is living with people who wanted to adopt her baby but not wanting to give it up. When she got her new job as Romans assistant, she had to get used to separating time for her work, her baby, and herself. Her faith in God was beautiful, especially what God pulled her out of shows how good He is.

This is one of the first Christian romance books I have ever read and I loved it. I want to read more of her books! I do want to discover more Christian romance books in the future with this much depth but also read ones that don’t hit you as hard as this one does. I highly recommend this book if you like deep romance that's written beautifully and is clean.

Now it's time for.................SPOILERS!

Spoilers:

I want to talk about the triggering event that made me stop in my tracks. The idea that Grace as a little girl had to deal with all of that abuse and ultimately losing your mother because of your father. I am actually tearing up writing this. The fear that she must have felt when her dad opened up that closet and just stared at her only for him to kill himself. If I ever read this book again, I will probably skip that part of the book.

I could not stand the women who wanted to adopt Grace’s family. When Grace was ready to leave and take her child to their new life, this woman would not let go. I wanted to travel into the book and say, ‘IT'S NOT YOUR KID SHUT UP.’I was ready to fight that woman also for making her family feel like she didn’t love them. She didn’t give her family any attention when that baby came into their lives so in all honesty, they need to she didn’t need that baby if she can barely take care of her own family.

When Grace and her friends got together it gave me so much joy because it reminds me of my friend group. They are there for her when she needs it and they have been with her in her Jesus journey which is so heartwarming. The way she had her baby after a one night stand with a man she never saw again shows how much strength she has. Her aunt was never one to show love and Grace. I felt scared to go back home to that home, but it wasn’t bad at all. Aunt Elizabeth had changed from her childhood, it was probably hard for Elizabeth when her sister died and having to raise Grace was difficult. I don’t think she was grieving properly but I think she finally was able to forgive her past and her sister.

I loved the ranch Roman was sent to be watched because he kept escaping foster families. It really made him into the man he grew up to be because of everything his mom put him through and not having a father, that family at the ranch became his family. When he took Grace to visit them I was over the moon excited. Their relationship made them grow as people and that encounter with hell and God Roman had was one of the biggest moments of both of their lives. I want to read this book again soon and tab my favorite parts.

But I think my favorite part is that they named their future daughter Hannah!
