Top 6 Books I Want to Read In Spring of 2026

Goodbye seasonal depression, hello sunshine and warmth! Usually I’m not as excited when spring starts because of bugs and overheating, but it feels different this year. This is only a small portion of some of the books I want to read in the spring season but they are a priority for me.

Let's get into it!

Ranking- LOW priority to HIGH priority

6) The Man Who Dies Seven Times by Yasuhiko Nishizawa

320 pages, Paperback

Published October 1, 1998

Genre: Mystery, Fiction, Time Travel, Thriller, Japan

A young member of the Fuchigami family named Hisataro has a strange ability. Sometimes he falls into a time loop against his own will and has to relive the same day nine times. This becomes useful when his grandpa dies. He returns to the murder timeline and tries to figure out who killed his grandpa. Along the way we see if he can find out who did it and potentially save his life.

I saw this on a table laid out at Barns & Noble and I was drawn to the cover and title. After reading the synopsis, I immediately put it in my stack. I love mysteries and thrillers. This one is a bit different from the others on my list but I wanted to put a couple out of the romance genre on my list. Japan is another country I really want to visit due to the rich culture, beautiful architecture, and Tokyo Disneyland. I am very excited to get to this story!

5) The Rom-Commers by Kathrine Center

336 pages, Hardcover

Published June 11, 2024

Genres: Romance, Fiction, Rom-com, Adult Fiction

In this book, you follow a woman named Emma Wheeler. She wants to be a screen writer and she has studied writing rom-coms. She is also the caretaker for her father. She got the chance to rewrite a famous script for a famous screenwriter. With this her sister helps take care of her dad and when she goes to work to meet her hero, Charlie isn’t what she thought he’d be. He's hard to work with and he doesn’t care about her script but she will fight tor her love of rom-coms and convince Charlie that love stories do matter even if they get tangled within each other emotionally.

Kathrine Center is known more for writing closed door/no spice adult romance novels and that is why I personally gravitate toward her. The first book I ever read by her was The Bodyguard and it quickly became one of my favorite romance books. I really enjoy her writing style and I want to continue reading all her discography. Another one I started with was Hello Stranger and I really need to go back and finish that one because from what I remember it was really good!

4) Elsewhere by Rosita Boland

288 pages, Paperback

Published May 30, 2019

Genre: Nonfiction, Memoir, Autobiography, Travel

Rosita Boland went on a solo trip to Australia after graduating and fell in love with travel. In the last thirty years she’s traveled to so many countries and documented her journeys. This follows nine different travels in her lifetime and showing how it feels to explore the world.

I found this book in a travel writing section and decided to buy it. One thing I would love to do is travel and write about my experiences. I want to post on this blog someday as I travel to different states, different countries, and even places near me. I want to see how other travelers record their experiences so that I can find inspiration and maybe find my own voice within my own experience. I think I want to start taking a travel diary with me so I can record my trips.

3) The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart by Holly Ringland

400 pages, Paperback

This is a debut novel about a romance of a girl, a girl with an abusive father and has to break patterns of the past. Their family suffers a tragedy, Alice was nine and her had to leave home to be taken to her grandma June. Her grandma is a flower farmer and she raises Alice in the language of Australian flowers. Alice then learns secrets and Alice grows up on the flower farm. A betrayal blindsides her and she leaves and goes to the Australian desert. She thought she’d found what she wanted and then she met Dylan.

First of all, the cover itself screams fall and it takes place partially in a FLOWER FARM!! I mean come on yall this is perfect. Not only a journey of self discovery and healing but we get a romance in the mist. I got this book for christmas and I’ve been so excited to pick it up. Since this is a debut I want to go into it with much expectation but that doesn’t stop my excitement especially since it takes place in Australia. If I’m not able to travel there now, I can transport myself through books and video content.

2) Just Friends by Haley Pham

352 pages, paperback

Published March 3, 2026

Genres: Romance, Fiction, Summer, Second Chance, Friends to Lovers, Adult Romance, Dual timeline

The two main characters Blair and Dean were best friends, attached at the hip basically growing up. Their friendship shattered after a romance between them sparked and a moment ruined their relationship in heartbreak. Fast forward four years, Blair comes back to their hometown to support her mom as her great aunt’s health gets worse. Walking into a coffee shop wanting a job is forced to confront Declan who is the manager of said establishment. As their paths cross again and again we see if they can overcome their past.

Haley is someone I’ve watched for a while and I know this is set in the Summer but I just really want to dive into this book. I have been following her progress through her youtube videos and I’m so proud of her. Haley does tell us that the romance is more of a subplot and it is quite emotional so I’m bringing my tissues just in case.

1) Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas

689 pages, kindle edition

Published September 1, 2015

Fantasy, High Fantasy, Fiction, Fae, Romance, Romantasy

I can't give you much of a summary of this book since it's the fourth in the series so I’ll tell you a bit about Throne of Glass. A girl named Celaena Sardothien goes to the king to win her freedom. If she kills twenty-three killers and thieves in a competition, she will serve as the king's champion. There is a love triangle between her, the prince, and the guard. Something dark lurks and as her competitors start dying it is a new survival mode for her. Now she has to try and save her world.

I really loved the first three of these books and I really need to finish this one in particular. I’ve been reading Queen of Shadows for over a year and a half. I love reading Celaena's parts but when it switches point of view to another character added into this book, it makes it hard for me to read. I’ve been trying to warm up to this new character and I want to get to the end this spring so I can start the tandem read.
